The Union Cabinet on July 13 approved the free dose of the Covid-19 vaccine booster for adults for 75 days starting July 15, said the Minister of Information.
Booster shots from the Coronavirus vaccine will be managed at no cost in public health care facilities, although, the dosage received at the Private Center will continue to be paid, said Anurag Singh Thakur when talking to reporters in the national capital.
India, on July 6, reduced the gap between the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and the third dose or the booster dose to six months for adults from the previous gap nine months.
Administration Dosage of precautions is available free for beneficiaries aged 60 years and over, health care workers, and frontline workers.
India has seen an uptick in the Covid-19 case active over the past few weeks, in line with several other countries that see the spread of new variants of the deadly virus.
India saw a 24 percent increase in daily coronavirus infection with 16,906 COVID-19 cases have only been reported in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has informed. With this, the number of active cases rose to 1,32,457. Coronavirus state deaths are now at 5,25,519 with 45 more deaths in the last 24 hours.
