Skipper Deepak Sathe is the pilot of the Air India Express flight who passed on alongside 17 others after the plane smashed at Kerala’s Kozhikode air terminal. Commander Sathe, who was the pilot-in-order and his co-pilot Akhilesh Kumar were among the people who passed on in the episode. He was pilot of Air India Express conveying travelers from Dubai in ‘Vande Bharat Mission’, which slid off the runway at Kozhikode International Airport.
