A 40-year-old man in the United States was killed in a Michigan water show when a semi-structured jet exploded during a terrible fireworks accident.
The video shared on social media captured the incident, which occurred on Saturday. The clip showed the truck caught fire and then exploded, sending black mushroom clouds into the air. Orange and thick black fireballs can also be seen in the front background of the video, and the vehicle disappears behind it and falls after appearing on the other side.
According to the New York Times, Chris Darnell, truck drivers and family members who have been part of the air performance for several years, were killed during the incident.
The 40 -year -old man ran two planes during the field of Flight Air Show at the Battle Creek Field when his vehicle, called the Shockwave Jet Truck, fell. Two Prop aircraft do air tricks and fly low over the truck while running along the runway when the accident occurred.
Special racing trucks, which are equipped with three jet engines and 36,000 joint horsepower, fall during fireworks from air performances. In Facebook’s statement, Darnell’s father, Neal Darnell, said that the accident was “due to mechanical failure in jet trucks”.
Furthermore, according to the outlet, Barbara Qukuhzka, Executive Director of the Festival, explained that apart from what kind of video, fireballs are fireworks and Mr. Darnell does not drive through fire. “Pyro is on the grass,” said MS Qukuzka, added, “Jet trucks are running on the runway. From the crowd, it seems like he drove directly through Piro. But he didn’t.”
The Battle Creek Police Department is now investigating the incident.
The vehicle was owned by Darnell Racing Enterprises. The company described the truck as “the most powerful truck in the world”, with three engines providing 21,000 pounds.
