Every Major Acquisition In Netflix’s History

With mergers and acquisitions Mania still gripping Hollywood, we thought we would look back at Netflix history in the company’s acquisition or asset. Ted Sarandos famous said, “We have always been a builder, not a buyer,” but does it survive? Mari Selami.

Like some of our other complete lists, such as a comprehensive list of agreements, this list will be updated over time, so store a bookmark.

We will divide the acquisition of Netflix into three categories. Acquisition of content, gaming acquisition, and others.

Content Acquisitions

This category is undoubtedly the most interesting for consumers. Content is the name of the game for streaming services, and companies such as Walt Disney and Amazon have added their libraries and IPs with their acquisition of each fox and 20th century MGM. This is also the most disappointing for Netflix so far, in our opinion.

While we can enter the semantics about what is specifically calculated as content acquisition, we specifically talk about IP or Studio purchased to Netflix rather than just get a license to flow certain content or exclusive distribution.

Mark Millar is a famous Scottish comic book writer who cut his teeth on people like DC and Marvel. In 2004, Millar began his own publishers creating titles such as kick-ass and Kingsman who had been successfully adjusted for large screens.

2022 will mark the fifth year of Millarworld is under Netflix and so far, they have released two original Netflix series (Jupiter Heritage and Supercroox) and at least 8 new comic entries.

There are many more on the road as well as we see through our Millarworld preview.

The Roald Dahl Story Company
