Marco Rubio is an American politician and senator, currently Chairman of the Senate Committee for Small Businesses.
Childhood
Marco Rubio was born on May 28, 1971 in Miami Florida. His parents emigrated from Cuba in 1956, three years before the Fidel Castro revolution. They only became citizens of the United States until 1975. Many relatives of Rubio later came from Cuba as refugees. He has three brothers and sisters, brother Mario and sisters Barbara and Veronica. Mario and Barbara are older than Marco, while Veronica is younger. Rubio attended South Miami Senior High School, graduated in 1989. He received a football purse for the Tarkio College of Missouri, but he only stayed there, before transferring to the Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, in Florida. In 1993, he obtained his baccalaureate in the arts in political science from the University of Florida. In 1996, he obtained a doctoral degree from the lawyer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Miami. Later, he said that he had $ 100,000 in student loans, that he reimbursed in 2012. During his studies, he carried out an internship for various Republican politicians, in particular by working on the presidential campaign of Bob Dole in 1996.
Political Career
Rubio ran for the Florida House of Representatives in 1999. He barely won the Republican appointment, beating Angel Zayon by only 64 votes during a running election. He beat the Democratic candidate Anastasia Garcia with a 73%landslide. Next year, he presented himself to re -election without opposition. He spent four terms in the Florida House of Representatives. During his stay, he also worked for a law firm in Miami and in 2004, he obtained a position in Broad and Cassel. In 2005, Rubio became a speaker of the Chamber, becoming the first Cubano-American to occupy this office.
United States Senate
In 2009, Rubio announced that he would appear for the headquarters in the American Senate. He beat Florida Governor Charlie Christ in primaries and won the general elections with 49% of the vote. In 2015, he joined the race for republican presidential appointment but abandoned after losing the Florida Caucus against Donald Trump. Instead, he ran again in the Senate in 2016 and won with 51% of the votes against the Democratic candidate Patrick Murphy.

Rubio is married to Jeanette Dousdebes and they have four children. The family lives in West Miami.
