Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has confirmed that the next Meta virtual reality headset will arrive in October. Zuckerberg made a comment on Joe Rogan’s podcast, showing a device – almost certainly a headset with the code name “Project Cambria” – is likely to be launched around the company’s annual connect event. “For the next device that comes out in October, there are several big features,” said Zuckerberg, discussing VR at the beginning of the podcast. He continued to describe the new social options that will be activated by eye and face tracking. “The ability to now has a type of eye contact in virtual reality,” Zuckerberg said as part of the list of features. “Ask your face to be tracked so that your avatar – not only this, but if you smile or if you frown or if you are frowning, or whatever your expression, ask for it to be translated in real time to your avatar.”
It is consistent with what we know about the Cambria Project, which should have a high resolution color screen, an internal sensor for eye tracking, and a sophisticated Passhrough Augmented Reality. As reported by Bloomberg last month, the leak code shows the device can be called Meta Quest Pro. Whatever is finally mentioned, Cambria will sit with the lower class meta quest-even though Meta is reported to have planned the next generation of both headsets. This is separate from the ranks of the reality of Augmented Meta’s new reality.
Cambria should be “significantly” more expensive than the existing search, the new one gets a price increase to $ 399. Meta previously stated that the device will be released around this year.
