A racing pigeon named Bob has risen 4,000 miles away in the United States after getting lost back to Tyneside, England.
About three weeks ago, Pigeons Homing departed from GuerNsey in the Channel Islands. He was supposed to compete back to his home in the northeast of England and the journey should take him for about 10 hours. However, valuable doves are lost and no one is sure of what happened to him.
The mystery was finally completed on July 6 when an old man found a bird in his garden in Mexia, Monrow County, Alabama.
According to the BBC, after the pigeon refused to leave the man’s garden, he called the local animal shelter, who came and moved it. Because pigeons wore typical leg tapes, animal shelters found that Bob should be on the other side of the ocean in England.
Speaking to the outlet, the staff at the Animal Shelter said that despite the lack of weight, Bob “looks pretty good” and has been examined by a veterinarian. “He looks good, he’s fine,” the staff who had cared for pigeons at the shelter.
Bird racing is said to be worth more than 1,000 pounds. Alan Todd’s pigeon, who lives in Winton, England. He has been reunited virtually with his bird. He told the BBC that he believed that Bob turned and landed on the ship where he crossed Atlantic.

Now, according to the outlet, Mr. Todd plans to travel to the United States to get Bob The Racing Pigeon again.
